How can each day be so different & so special!
This morning started off with R&K going for a big walk which included Abu Hassan for humus & pita. Jeffrey & I walked to Dizengoff centre for some shopping & another visit to the bank.
After lunch we set off on our tiyul to Zichron Yaakov, the quaint little village near Caesaria. We love to go there mainly for Tishbi, the wine shop & cafe of the local Tishbi winery. (Jeffrey has fond memories of another time when we sat there with the Brotts & Lincolns wine tasting & chatting with the locals). The four of us spent a lovely hour there today sitting outside under an umbrella. The highlight of the visit was the purchase of a 2litre flagon of Tishbi wine for $10 AUS.
So today, after more than 2 months of asking, Zev finally came through with 4 tickets for Idan Raichel at Caesaria for tonight. I had read yesterday that all four concerts were sold out which made us worried that it wouldn’t happen. So we were thrilled to get the tickets. We had a snack in the tourist part of the ancient ruins & then walked to the amphitheatre which was packed with people. Our seats were brilliant, on the aisle 3 rows up on the elevated steps. The show was extremely entertaining, the energy on stage was dynamic, & the crowd loved every minute of the two hour show. They were singing, dancing & waving the flashing red hearts that were given to everyone as they entered the stadium. The biggest surprise of the night is that Idan Raichel has shaved his head.. No more dread locks!
Elated at the end of the concert, we battled the crowd & the traffic & once again we arrived back in TA safe & sound thanks to the combined expertise of JA & Waze. At 1am we walked in the door & it was a race to bed. So after I finish this posting, I too will happily zzzzzz
