Happy birthday Ross!
Spent the morning in the Old City, checking out the shops in the Cardo & back to the Kotel. Up the steps, down the steps, up the steps, down the steps, repeat, repeat etc.
This afternoon Jeffrey had once again organized a private tour for R&K at Yad Vashem, but this time we joined them as our babysitting services were not required. Searle made sure we had the brilliant Debbie to be our guide again & she was superb! There is so much more to learn no matter how many visits to Yad Vashem you make. The 3 hrs went very quickly & then we were visiting with Shaya Ben Yehuda (the head of the English speaking department & also R&K’s bilingual teacher from Mt Scopus). He’s been wanting to catch up with Rohan & talks about him every time we go to Yad Vashem. Rohan Kate & Shaya had a good chat & shared a few memories before it was time to leave.
Jeffrey expertly delivered us back to Tel Aviv after a wonderfully moving experience. As exhausted as we were, we had a drink & off to the Jaffa Port for a great fish dinner at The Old Man & the Sea. Then, even more exhausted & very satiated after a delicious dinner, we did another big walk into Old Jaffa, through to the closed flea market area & then around the coast back to the car.. One nurofen for the aches & pains and off to bed. Layla tov!
