DEAD SEA & MASADA
We’re staying in a lovely hotel here called Isrotel Dead Sea. Much nicer than I expected. After breakfast we visited Masada. They now have car parking in the mountain. We went up by cable car which was much quicker than I remembered. It is an awesome place. There has been more restoration to the buildings since our last visit. Even though it was very hot, the kids loved it & were happy to listen to stories & explanations from our tour guide JA. And the views from the top are majestic & awesome (I know I’ve used that word before but it is the perfect description). I think I had forgotten how special it is, or maybe because I was sharing the experience with our kids & grand kids.
We spent the afternoon around the hotel pool & the kids love to be in the water. Later we went for another float across the road in the Dead Sea. There are lots of people walking around in bath robes. Most of them are older & bigger & russian around.
After enquiring, we found out that now you have to buy packets of mud. It takes away the fun! But we managed to find a group & take their photo.
I have so many great IMHO photos, I have no idea how I will be able to choose which ones to include here when we finally get back to wifi. BTW only two of us are having wifi withdrawals ;).
Every day seems to be special but today was one of the very special ones.
