THURSDAY 16/5/13

Our last morning in Yerushalayim, G&O left early for a private tour of Yad Vashem. Neither of them had seen the new museum so it was a new experience. With limited time, & with a very experienced guide, they saw as much as they could. But with every holocaust museum, there is so much to learn & so many stories to hear..
After clearing out of the apartment, & packing up the car, Jeffrey & I took the 3 children to the Biblical Zoo in Jerusalem. Also with limited time we didn’t get to see everything, but the kids loved every minute of it. We started off with a train ride to the other end & walked back. Addi was following our progress with a map of the zoo & telling us what was next along the path. Interestingly, there is a whole section of Australian animals which the girls were eager to explore. A very successful tiyul!
From the zoo, we picked up G&O from Yad Vashem & drove back to TA. Some of the passengers had a nap on the way back. It was interesting to see how the weather warmed up as we travelled closer to the coast.
Unpacking, a few loads of washing, & we were settled back in our apartment. I had to have a rest as I was going dancing & Jeffrey had an hour or so on the beach relaxing, while the kids went for a walk (& an ice cream). Then take away Japanese dinner after the kids went to bed.

Tonight Jeffrey & Gav rode the bikes to the Namal to meet Zev. Hope they had fun but I have to wait till the morning to hear all about it.

For the dancers:
I went to Gadi’s class at TA Uni tonight with Diana Perla from Sydney. There was a Sagiv Cohen concert during the session which was terrific! He sang all the songs of his that we dance to & the atmosphere was charged with excitement!
Yaron Ben Simchon was there, as well as Shlomo Maman & Yankele Ziv. Shlomo told me that he spent half an hour tonight teaching a group of young dancers a choreography of Yashkef (sung by Sagiv Cohen) to perform tonight. It was great. YBS was his usual gorgeous self & it was so good to see him. Gadi was on such a high after his Spanish cruise this week & the concert tonight. This is the first session I’ve been to for a couple of weeks.
So now off to bed.. Layla tov & Shabat shalom xx
