I’ve already said that these few days in Yerushalayim have been very emotional for me. But looking at this part of the experience through the eyes of our children & grandchildren is most rewarding.
Gavin & Orly have loved it here. From their memories of Ben Yehuda Street from Ulpan days, to the shops & restaurants of the Mamilla Centre, to the hustle & bustle of the markets in the Old City, the celebration of Shavuot here, & the highlight of it all, the Kotel. They’ve loved it all!
I am so impressed with Chloe, Addison & Noah. Sightseeing can be hard work, & they’ve taken to it like ducks to water. Chloe has walked for miles without a complaint, been interested in absolutely everything, & then come back to the apartment & spent hours choreographing dances & performing for us. Such naches!
Addi & Noah have had a ball. They’ve been shlepped in strollers up & down hills, & bumped up & down steps & more steps, laughing all the way. They’ve eaten when hungry, rested & slept when tired & enjoyed it all.
We’ve talked a lot about the significance of Yerushalayim & different aspects of our visit here.
Both girls were very serious about their visits to the Kotel. They wrote notes to put in the wall. And they loved the visits to the Kotel via the markets.
Tonight motzai chag, Judy & Chaim have come to visit & we’re going to have something to eat together. G&O are out for dinner now & a stroll through Mamilla.
