Israel 2013

MONDAY 29/7/13

As much as I absolutely love being here in Israel, there are a few things that need improving..
1. The bananas are inedible.
2. Avocados are hit and miss, you can’t actually pick a good one.
3. There is no such thing as a wettex here.
4. You can’t buy corn kernels in a can.
5. Pomegranates are out of season for most of July.
6. People need to learn that bike paths are for riding & not walking.

The most obvious aspect of life here that improves more each time we come is how polite & helpful people are generally.

With only two more weeks here, we are beginning to look back at our wonderful experience, the special time we spent with our family, & the time we spent just the two of us together. It seems that there is not a thing we would change (except perhaps to extend..) It’s really been a dream come true!

So today we went to the beach before breakfast because Jeffrey has always wanted to walk out to the breakwater & the tide was out. The beach water is so warm, & I walked out with him, my camera held way over my head for safety.

After breakfast, Jeffrey went for a long bike ride right along the Yarkon river & then back towards Herzliya. I walked to the Dizengoff centre, walked around for an hour or so, then walked back.
During the last week, the temp has become a couple of degrees hotter. It feels like a big difference.
After late lunch on the terrace, we went back to the beach, & then to the pool.
About 8:30pm we rode our bikes to Jaffa for dinner. There were so many people out walking, that we couldn’t ride the last bit. We thought there must be a special event on, but there wasn’t.
